WHAT MAKES US UNIQUE
Our Crane Services to the U.S. Army

Mobile Crane Inspection and Maintenance
Mobile cranes are among the Army’s most heavily used and high-risk assets. We specialize in mobile crane inspections and maintenance, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, Army standards, and OEM requirements.
Our highly trained technicians follow every step of TB 43-0142 and related standards—never cutting corners.
- High-Compliance Guarantee: If the regulation requires it, we do it. No shortcuts.
- Safety and Mission Readiness: Preventing accidents during training and operations while keeping assets mission-ready.

Overhead Crane Services
Too often, low-cost providers deliver “sticker inspections” without meeting technical requirements. We solve this problem by delivering true compliance-based inspections and preventive maintenance—not just paperwork.
- Accurate, documented inspections that withstand Army audits.
- Preventive maintenance to extend service life and minimize downtime.
- Operator safety first—because injured operators and unsafe equipment compromise readiness.

Engineering Solutions
Beyond inspections, we provide specialized engineering services to solve the Army’s toughest crane challenges:
- Custom Lifting Applications – From spreader bars to specialized rigging for sensitive equipment, we design and certify custom below-the-hook solutions.
- Procurement Specifications – When new cranes are needed, we develop compliant specifications, drawings, and facility integration packages to streamline acquisition and avoid costly rework.
- Problem Solving – We don’t just deliver equipment—we ensure the Army has the right material-handling solution for the mission.
Case Study
Maintaining an Aging Mobile Crane Inventory
Equipment
Mobile cranes of all types, including Link-Belt, Grove, Manitowoc and P&H.
Challenge:
After being awarded a contract from a long standing incumbent, our team quickly discovered that the fleet of mobile cranes had received only minimal maintenance for many years.
The combination of age and neglect meant the equipment required far more attention than anticipated to bring it back to safe and compliant operating conditions.
Solution:
We collaborated closely with end users and the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) to ensure timely communication, provide transparent repair reporting, and inform prioritization decisions. This approach ensured that repairs were addressed in a way that balanced safety, compliance, and mission readiness—the three non-negotiables of Department of War crane operations.
Results:
The result is a fleet that is more available and mission-ready than ever before, with end users able to perform their critical testing missions with confidence.
Just as importantly, the customer is now armed with the knowledge to more efficiently manage the fleet and plan for mobile crane replacements—turning a history of neglect into a roadmap for sustained readiness.
FAQ
Does Craneworks work directly with the Army or through contractors?
Both. We hold prime contracts directly with the government, but we also partner with base operations support contractors and general contractors to deliver crane expertise on Army installations.
Can Craneworks help us procure new cranes?
Yes. We develop Army- and DoD-compliant procurement specifications and facility integration drawings, ensuring new cranes are mission-ready and meet all requirements before they arrive. This prevents costly delays and rework.
